This abstract textile print is created for Nyne's Summer collection as a softer companion to the original colourway. Inspired by rolling landscapes and natural contours, the design takes familiar forms and abstracts them into a layered composition that works beautifully across a range of garments.
The colour palette combines warm blush, soft beige and rich chocolate brown, creating a versatile print that feels calm, modern and effortless to wear. Designed with the Nyne customer in mind, the artwork balances bold graphic shapes with softer layered textures to create something timeless rather than trend-driven.
The Design Process
The print begins as a collection of hand-cut paper shapes, arranged into an abstract collage before being refined digitally. My background in fashion and textile design has always drawn me to this tactile way of working. Building compositions by hand allows me to explore balance, movement and scale before translating the artwork into a seamless repeat.
Working closely with the Nyne design team, we developed this colourway by adjusting opacity, layering and colour to create depth while ensuring the print works across multiple silhouettes throughout the collection.
One of the challenges of designing for fashion is creating artwork that performs across everything from flowing dresses to tailored shirts and separates. Every element is carefully considered so the print feels balanced, flattering and cohesive, no matter the garment.
