This custom boys bedroom mural was all about creating a personalized space that felt unique to Ardie, he's seven and his super cool Mum wanted to surprise him with an upgrade to his room.
We talked about all of his favourite things and I sketched out a Playstation controller, beachy elements like palm trees and surfboards, he's a bit of a sports fan, so I threw in a basketball, rugby ball and soccer ball. And of course a cool pair of nikes. I created a mockup of the mural and got a feel for the balance and placement of the design.
Working with the existing light sage green wall colour, I chose a dark forest green and a soft cream for the accent marks to compliment the space. I painted the mural in around five hours. The result is a reflection of all the things that Ardie likes doing! The coolest boys bedroom around, and the best part... he is so happy with it!
