I was approached by leading outdoor brand Kathmandu to collaborate on print designs for the Spring/ Summer 2023 range. The team came across my work on Instagram and I was so excited to hear that they loved my work!
To be approached by such a well-known Kiwi brand is an honour. I was astonished when I first saw that Kathmandu had reached out to me to collaborate.
It's not often I get a brief with full creative license for a print design! I had the opportunity to explore multiple concepts and dive deep into the creative process. I really wanted to encapsulate what the brand meant to me, and I pulled on imagery and photography I loved of the New Zealand landscape as inspiration.
The creative process included pitching two different concept directions to the team via a Zoom call. I then developed the favourite concept into a seamless repeat and created options for placement prints for the tees.
